About Walkin’ Doggies

Christy Jackson - Owner/Manager

The company was founded in 2009, and is managed by Christy Jackson, a lifetime animal lover from the east coast. Christy has cared for a variety of beloved pets through the years including Guinea Pigs, Bunnies, Goldfish, Hermit Crabs, Iguanas, fresh/saltwater fish, invertebrates, and of course, cats and dogs! Her first doggie love was Candy, the sweet Peek-a-poo she grew up with since the 4th grade.

Christy graduated from East Carolina University with a B.F.A. in Theatre Arts. Relocating to LA in 2001, she worked as a receptionist, waitress, and licensed massage therapist while pursuing acting. She also held a variety of animal related positions such as a grooming assistant/bather, doggy daycare attendant, and was a dog walker/pet sitter for friends, and two other pet care companies totaling 4+ yrs. Soon she realized that working with animals was the only job that would truly provide the satisfaction she was looking for, so Walkin' Doggies was born.

Christy is currently the proud mom of a 4 year old French Bulldog named Lola, who makes her laugh every day. What more can a doggie mom ask for? :)

Michelle - Walker

Michelle grew up as a native in Los Angeles, and has owned and worked with animals in one way or another her entire life. She has experience working in veterinary hospitals in Los Angeles, and was a petsitter for the hospitals clients for years. She now works in Film Locations in Los Angeles, but she loves her continued work & play time with animals by working for Walkin' Doggies! Michelle's love for dogs is blind, and she believes that all dogs, be they large & powerful, or tiny & timid deserve equal love and treatment in her eyes. Michelle is a long time owner of Pitbull Terriers, and has a great knowledge, understanding, and experience with the "Bully" and "Power Breeds" of dogs. She is passionate in helping with the education, understanding, and rescue/placement of these dogs in the Los Angeles community in her space time, and her current dog "Honey" is a perfect example of how much love you bring into your home when you decide to rescue a dog in need.

Molly - Walker

Molly grew up on a horse ranch in Colorado caring for a farmload of animals including nine dogs. She moved to LA to pursue screenwriting, but her passion for animals has caused her to reconsider, and instead pursue her childhood dream of vet school. She currently attends Pierce College for Pre Veterinary Science/Veterinary Technology. Her fur family in LA consists of her Corgi, Tegan, a rescued Great Dane, Lyla, a rescued kitty, Schmitty, and her Paint Horse, Bali. Every day that she gets to visit a happy pet, and knows she had something to do with it, is a good day!

Miriam - Walker

Miriam, who is originally from New Orleans, was raised with dogs, cats, and birds. She has always had a very special place in her heart for all creatures, but most especially dogs. She has previously worked for an auction house, in retail, in television and music video production, and in real estate. Occasionally, she would dogsit and housesit for friends. It seemed natural to professionally pursue something she so enjoys doing, the care and well-being of animals. Miriam lives happily in Venice with her two rescue dogs, Ivy, a terrier/hound mix, and Peter, a blind wire hair fox terrier. All three look forward to, and thoroughly enjoy, their daily walks around their wonderful beachy neighborhood.

Cindy - Walker

Cindy was born in Los Angeles, CA. and grew up in Colorado Springs, CO. in a big house full of children and animals. Cindy has always had a special spot in her heart for all animals and developed a talent of "how to sneak stray animals into the house" without your mother finding out for at least 24 hours. Later, her children "mastered" this talent and Cindy's home was also filled with stray animals that needed a safe, loving home. You could always find an iguana, dog, cat, rat, fish, snake, turtle or hamster. After attending University of Colorado, Colorado Springs for Business Management, Cindy worked in various positions in the hospitality industry,including Director of Sales for Hotels and Resorts, owning an Adventure Tour Company and working for the Walt Disney Company as an Adventure Tour Guide! Now that both her children have moved out on their own, Cindy has decided to pursue two of her passions full time..."Baking Desserts and Walkin' Doggies!" Tyler - Walker

Tyler grew up in rural Connecticut always with a family dog which is probably why when he moved away from home the top of his priorities was finding a canine companion. He is currently the proud Dad of a a pit bull rescue from the West LA Animal Shelter and has lots of experience with larger and aggressive breeds. Tyler has worked hard to contribute to changing how people view these loyal sweet dogs. He has also recently taken another pit bull puppy into his home as well. She was found in someones backyard with no micro chip or tags, and when the finding person couldn't keep her, he agreed to sponsor and find her a home while she lives with him and his blue nose named Loki. So far, they are getting along great! Tyler has worked with dogs for most of his life whether it was training the family dog or caring for other peoples dogs while they were away. He has dog sat breeds ranging from German Shepard's and English Mastiffs to Pomeranians. Tyler has a true love for dogs and it shows. Walkin' Doggies is thrilled to have him as a part of the team.

Electa - Walker

Electa is originally from Merced in Northern California where she developed her love for animals and nature. She always had pets growing up, and has worked as a walker and sitter in the past. She has also worked in television, cable advertising, and as a teachers aide with children. Electa is now semi retired, so Walkin' Doggies is a perfect fit in more ways than one. She is pictured here with her Border Collie Mix Niles, who is no longer with her family, but whom she wanted to honor. She is happy to still have his brother Bogie, a Shepherd Lab mix and a Scottish Fold cat named Gabby. Electa understands how precious pets are and vows to treat them as she would her own which are very loved and spoiled. In her spare time, Electa enjoys running and gardening.

Crista - Walker

Crista hails from the east coast and has her BSEE from Georgia Tech. She grew up with dogs her entire life, and her parents are keeping her Great Dane/Boxer mix HoiToi back in Fl until she can make room for him here. She's currently working towards her MBA online and supplements that work with Walkin' Doggies. She also currently volunteers with Make a Wish of LA, and enjoys other outdoor activities such as hiking and surfing. Crista hopes to continue walking dogs even after she completes school, as spending time with animals makes her happy.

Larissa - Walker

Larissa has always loved animals. Growing up she was surrounded by exotic pets, and has just become the proud mom of an 10 month old Maltese puppy. Since working with Walkin' Doggies, Larissa has really connected with our clients pets in the past year, and though she has recently decided to pursue other full time career paths, she will still be available for weekend and vacation visits. Helping out a fellow furry friend is something she's always delighted to do.
